At the monthly club meeting we
always have a display cabinet showing our best finds of the previous
month, and it would be unusual not to have Roman coins, Medieval
hammered coins, buckles, pipe tampers, thimbles, rings, military badges
etc. on display every month.
We are very fortunate to now have Dr Kevin Leahy ( a Finds Liaison Officer from the Portable
Antiquities Scheme ) come along to every second club meet. As
a club we wish to encourage the close links that this valuable scheme
has bought about between responsible metal detectorists and
archaeologists. All finds that may be over 300 years old
should be voluntarily handed over to the P.A.S. , with the find spot
details, for recording and measuring before being returned.

Each
month we send club news and pictures of our best finds for
publication in the "club activities" section of "The Searcher" magazine.
Guests are invited along to all our rallies and club meets as long as
they abide by the few sensible rules we have.
Please feel free to use the links and see some of our recent finds from
the counties that make up the centre of the UK.
