Detectorist of the year

Redditch Historical Detection Society 2010
Detectorist of the year
 winner of 2009 Keith Prosser

Many thanks to Angie Bolton from the PAS for presenting the trophy.
As a club were very fortunate to have the local dealer  for our club sponsor for this competition. Not only have they provided a wonderful trophy that anyone would be pleased to display on their mantelpiece, but they also provide enough good metal detecting prizes for the best 5 scores in this competition.

We have always had trophies for the best coin and artefact found at a club rally, which is voted for at the AGM in March every year. But it was decided that “not just does a one-off good find, make the best detectorist of the whole year”. So we decided on a strategy where each month the best, coins and artefacts scored points decided on by members and guests. These scores are totted up and the very best score would become our “Detectorist of the Year”.
The final top scores of 2009 were:

Keith Prosser 22
Enid Homer 20
Andrew Rose 18
Steve White 14
Russell Peach 14
Bob Marshall 13
Jackie McClelland 12
Howard Sterry 10
Brian Harwood 8
Trevor Smith 7
Lee H 6
Ray Homer 5
Mark Pugh 5
Ken Walker 5
Jerome Wallington 5
Peter McClelland 4
John Joyce 4
Andrew Hughes 4
Mark Strangwood 3
Guy Gordon 3

Congratulations Keith Prosser winner of 2009.
